Lorage (Levisticum officinale)

Bladder seed has been cultivated since the time of Plinthy, and was a common sight in medieval monasteries and farm gardens. The leaves not only add flavour to soups and stews, but are also considerd an aphrodisiac.

Growing instructions
Sow in spring or early autumn. The seed can be slow to germinate. Prick out the seedlings into individual pots when they are large enough to handle and plant them out into their permanent positions in early summer.
