Description

Wild garlic, ramsons or bear garlic is probably the most famous wild leek species in Central Europe. It grows in open forests, but can also be cultivated and even become feral in the garden - its strong tendency to expand is mainly due to the fact
that ants like to carry the ramsons seeds and spread the plant that way. Both leaves and bulbs may be used in cooking, and both the leaves and small bulbs are said to have health benefits ("bear garlic makes you strong as a bear")

Growing instructions
This plant is a cold-germinator. The sowing must be kept cold for a period of some weeks (refrigerator) or you sow them in very early spring or autumn. Wood garlic prefers a moist soil, and grows well in a half-shaded location.
