Description

White henbane is a rare Mediterranean henbane with beautiful light flowers and a long and exciting history. In ancient times it was used for divination purposes, perhaps even in the Greek oracle cult. In the Middle Ages it was part of magic potions
and intoxicating beers.
The history of surgery would have been different without this plant. The narcotic henbane oil was often used before surgeries.
The white henbane originates from the Mediterranean. Its seed germinate easier than those of its cousin, the black henbane.

Caution: The whole plant is very poisonous and is particularly dangerous for children!

Growing instructions
Scatter seeds broadcast on seed sowing compost and press them into the soil gently, possibly slightly covering them from above with finely sieved soil. The annual henbane plant dies after fall, but can also be biennial, depending on sowing time. Henbane loves bright places and plenty of nitrogen (fertilization). Can also be kept as a houseplant.
