Description

Lavender grows as a low shrub in rocky coastal regions of the Mediterranean area. Imported by Benedictine monks it entered monastery gardens north of the Alps. Because of its wonderful fragrance, lavender is often used for cosmetics. A tea brewed
from lavender petals is considered calming. Lavandula angustifolia is a particularly essential Lavender species which is particularly rich in essential oils, has antiseptic qualities and the added bonus of warding off fleas and moths.

Growing instructions
Perennial plant, loves sunny locations. Sow early spring indoors. Pot up the seedlings into individual pots as soon as the first true leaf appears and plant them out in March after the last expected frosts.
