Description

This wild crocus originates from South-Eastern Europe and grows in light forests. It has delicate violet flowers and is suitable for planting in meadows, as subplant for woody plants and trees or for rockeries. It flowers a few weeks earlier than
other crocuses and is thus an early spring flowering plant. The early crocus speads and reseeds itself, but does not displace indigenous species as an invasive neophyte, and is thus perfectly suited for naturalizing.

Growing instructions

The seeds of the perennial plant germinate well in pre-culture. The small seedlings are initially very sensitive to transplantation. The bulbs can then be planted after the leaves have withered in late autumn. Flowers mostly in the 3rd year and multiplies by self-seeding.
