Description

The joint pine grows in the Mediterranean region in dry locations. The grayish-green branches can easily be broken and twisted off, in contrast to other ephedra species - hence the latin name "fragilis". The plants grow very bushy, densely branched
and is mostly winter hardy in the Central European climate. In particularly rough climate in unprotected locations Ephedra fragilis may be overwintered only as an indoor pot plant. It is used medically for its antiviral effects and contains ephedrine alkaloids which are successfully used in the treatment of asthma and other respiratory illnesses.

Due to import restrictions we are unable to ship Ephedra seed to Australia!
