Description

The Bolivian San Pedro cactus is at home in the dry valleys of La Paz and also grows in the Andes at altitudes of 4000 to 4800m. The rather short-growing cactus usually grows in several shoots at its base, initially spherical and later in a columnar
form. Of course, after a few years, it forms the typical white flower, which impresses with a length of 15-20 cm and usually blooms at night.

Growing instructions

Sow the Bolvian torch cactus seeds in sandy soil. Do not cover the small seeds, but press gentle into the earth. Keep seeds in constant moisture with temperatures of about 20 °C (68 °F). San Pedro may be grown as a pot plant in northern areas. It prefers a sandy, well-drained soil. In winter, the dormant period, plants should be watered very carefully, as they need almost no water at all. In summer they may be watered more often.
