Description

Nothing compares to the aroma of freshly picked strawberries from your own garden - hence, a summer without growing fresh strawberries would feel somewhat incomplete. According to archaeological records strawberries were already enjoyed as a food as
early as the Stone Age and we know that attempts have already been made in the Middle Ages, to cultivate wild strawberries, also known as woodland strawberries.
By the way: from a botanical point of view, strawberries are not true berries but aggregate fruits.

Included in this seed kit are 3 exceptional, old, aromatic strawberry varieties:
  • White strawberry 'Yellow Wonder' (Fragaria vesca)
'Yellow wonder' is an unique crème-white strawberry variety, with very aromatic, small 'berries'.
  • Alpine strawberry (Fragaria alpina/ vesca var. semperflorens)
The alpine strawberry is a cultivated form of the wild strawberry with long lasting harvesting periods and larger 'berries'.
  • Wild strawberry/ woodland strawberry/ European strawberry/ Fraise des bois (Fragaria vesca)
These strawberries are truly the best, with small 'berries' but soooo flavoursome, yummy!
The seeds of each variety are packaged in a separate sachet.
