Description

Ribwort plantain is a much-used medicinal herb. A boiled syrup made from the leaves is considered an expectorant cough medicine. Freshly picked, crushed leaves are said to promote the healing of wounds and insect bites.

Plantain is an undemanding perennial plant. The seeds are sown outdoors from the end of March and April approx. 1.5 cm deep in the soil. Buckhorn loves sunny locations.
