Some of the typical Asian vegetables also thrive very well in our Central European climate.


This seed set contains a selection of some aromatic useful plants for the kitchen:
  • Purple sprouting (Brassica oleracea var. italica)
    A well producing sprouting cabbage variety, which forms delicate, crunchy broccoli branches that regrow over again.
  • Bunching onion 'Ishikura' (Allium fistulosum)
    Ishikura is a robust, mild tasting Asian spring onion variety, with long white-green 'leafs', which grows well all year around.
  • Edible burdock (Arctium lappa var. sativa)
    A very old root vegetable. Burdock in its cultivated form with tender, non-woody roots.
  • Bok Choy/ Pak choi (Brassica rapa ssp. chinensis)
    A traditional Asian leaf-cabbage variety with a superb taste.
  • Mizuna/ Japanese mustard (Brassica rapa var. nipposinica)
    Mizuna is a lovely fast growing and regrowing leaf vegetable variety with a wonderful peppery flavour.
  • Japanese Red Kintoki Carrot (Daucus carota)
    Dark red carrot variety, which has a long tradition in the Kyoto area.
  • Moso Bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens)
    Moso bamboo is the largest bamboo found in temperate climates.
  • Yardlong bean / cowpea / asparagus bean / Chinese long-bean (Vigna unguiculata)
    This is an exotic, tropical bean variety, which can produce pods with up to 1m lengths, which are prepared similar to our native green beans.
The seeds of each variety are packaged in a separate sachet.
