This seed set contains 11 traditional medicinal and culinary herbs that have been cultivated in monastery gardens:
  • Common cowslip (Primula veris)

  • Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
    Lavender is a low shrub that is very common in the rocky coastal regions of the Mediterranean and is known for its uniquely scented purple flowers. It is very popular both with people and bees.
  • Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)
    An all-round talent among the old, traditional medicinal plants. Camomile blossom tea should always be available in the cupboard.
  • Comfrey (Symphytum officinale)
    Root extracts of this ancient medicinal plant are the remedy of choice for bruises, strains and sprains. Comfrey is also a good bee pasture.
  • Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)
    The characteristic flavour of thyme works really well for seasoning stews, soups, fish and meat dishes. Prepared as a tea infusion, it also helps to relieve diseases of the respiratory tract.
  • Valerian (Valeriana officinalis)
    An ancient popular medicinal plant known mainly for its calming effect as tea or herbal extract. Cats are magically attracted by the smell of the roots.
