This seed kit contains 8 plants for the woodland garden:
  • Rhubarb (Rheum rhabarbarum)
    The root of rhubarb, which originates from the Himalayas, is an important remedy in Chinese medicine. The use of the fleshy stems for desserts has only been widespread for about 250 years. From the second year the young stems can be harvested.
  • Welsh onion, Japanese bunching onion, Scallions (Allium fistulosum)
    Plenty fresh greens paired with a lovely onion aroma, throughout wintertime.
  • Red Russian Curly Kale (Brassica oleracea convar. acephala var.sabellica)
    The 'Red Russian' is a robust curly kale variety from Siberia, which has an exquisite flavour. The name refers to its leaves, which change to red after taking in sunlight.
  • Gobo (Arctium lappa var.sativa)
    A very old root vegetable. Burdock in its cultivated form with tender, non-woody roots.
  • Wild wall-rocket, annual wall-rocket 'Rucola selvatica' (Diplotaxis muralis)
    'Rucola selvatica' is a fast spreading and very aromatic Italian rucola salad, which can be harvested continuously up until the time when it starts to flower.
  • Green orach, garden orache, mountain spinach, french spinach, orache, arrach (Atriplex hortensis)
    Green orach is also one of the rediscovered ancient vegetable rarities. Their leaves can be picked and prepared like spinach and taste delicious raw as salad, steamed or sautéed.
  • Broccoli 'Purple Sprouting' (Brassica oleracea)
    A well producing sprouting cabbage variety, which forms delicate, crunchy broccoli branches that regrow over again.
  • Lettuce 'May King' (Lactuca sativa)
    Very early butterhead lettuce. Can be sown in open ground from January.
