Description

Oysterleaf, also known as sea bluebells, can be found growing wild on the coast of Scotland and Shetland. The fleshy leaves of this low-growing shore plant are rich in a flavour, which is comparable to oysters, anchovies, mushrooms and borage. The
perennial plant flowers initially reddish and changes its flower color to light blue in early summer. It is very suitable for planting in rock gardens because it requires no special substrate

Growing instructions
Oyster leaf needs cold to germinate, and its seeds require stratification and germinate rather irregularly, distributed over a longer period of time. Sow from October to February directly outdoors. Only sparsely cover with soil. Since this plant is very popular with snails, it should be cultivated in pots. Oysterleaf loves sunny locations and fresh, well drained, slightly sandy soils. perennial plant flowers initially reddish and changes its flower color to light blue in early summer.
