Description

Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) is the largest bamboo cultivar that can survive in temperate climates. It reaches a height of between 4 and 30 m. North of the Alps, these gigantic dimensions are rarely achieved, though - but Moso bamboo is
hardy in Central Europe, which is a great advantage. Moreover, Phyllostachys pubescens is an important crop. It is grown for its fleshy, savory sprouts and provides fibers, and wood for furniture.

Growing instructions

Moso bamboo seeds have to pre-soak in warm water a few hours. Then sow and not quite cover with soil, since they needs light to germinate. Keep moist and warm. The seedlings can be planted outdoors after the last frost.
