The beautiful, perennial shrub is known as a spice and tea herb as its leaves and blossoms exude intense and aromatic anise and liquorice scent. Apart from that, anise hyssop is neither related to anise nor to hyssop. The leaves can be continually
harvested during the whole vegetation period and used as an addition to a salad or dried as digestible tea.

This variety, with its lavender-blue, loose blossoms, is an attractive aromatic plant for the flower or herb bed and also magically attracts bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. The blossoms are perfectly suitable as a cut flower for the vase and also stay very decorative when dried.

Anise hyssop originates from Mexico and, there and in North America, belongs to the traditional medicinal plants of many indigenous peoples.
