Sage Varieties - Seed kit gift box

The most popular sage variety in Germany is garden sage. Garden sage originated in the mediterranean region before it was introduced north of the Alps in the Middle Ages. Ever since, garden sage has been valued as a medicinal plant and spice.

This seed kit contains 3 aromatic sage varieties:

• Sage (Salvia officinalis)
  Sage is a traditional medicinal-, and kitchen herb descending from the mediteranean and tastes lovely with meat and fish. It also is the key ingredient for the famous 'saltimbocca' recipe.
• Spanish Sage (Salvia lavandulifolia)
  The flowers of the Spanish Sage resemble those of lavender. Hence, this variety is also referred to as 'lavender-petalled', though its flavour resembles that of rosemary. This variety is suitable to season and cure.
• Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea)
  Beautiful, splendid sage species with a strong, resinous smell, which has a slightly euphoric effect. Both on humans and cats.
