The botanical name Belladonna is composed of the Greek goddess of fate "Atropos" and the Italian "belladonna" for beautiful woman, possibly dating back to the legend that women in Italy, for aesthetic reasons, widened their pupils with eyedrops made of belladonna. For this effect, atropine is still used in ophthalmology today.

Sowing & cultivation
Preculture indoors in late March. Direct sowing outdoors from mid to late April. The seeds can be pre-soaked in water for 24 hours. Sowing depth about 1-2 cm. Botany Bay Spinach is sensitive to frost. If frosty nights are expected, cover with fleece.
Loves warm, sunny locations, constant water supply and good garden soil. Every 2-3 weeks you can harvest the leaves.
