A beautiful yellow-flowering form of Monkshood, which like Blue Monkshood is highly poisonous.

This herbaceous perennial grows naturally in Europe's Alpine regions. In gardens this makes it very well suited to rock garden plantings, though the pale yellow flower stems will also add visual interest to any flower bed. The flowers are nectar-rich, making them an excellent food source for many beneficial insects. This is a gorgeous perennial for natural gardens - and one that can also be used as a cut flower.

Due to the substances it contains, this form of Monkshood is also a traditional medicinal plant.

Aconitum anthora seeds. Contents: approximately 20 Yellow Monkshood seeds.

This plant is a cold germinator. The seeds must be kept cold for a period of several weeks (e.g. in a refrigerator). Alternatively, sow the seeds outdoors in a bright location in early spring or in autumn. Mix the seeds with moist sand in a plastic bag. The bag must be kept warm and moist (around 20°C) for the first 2-4 weeks and then placed in the refrigerator where it should remain for 5 to 6 weeks at a temperature of 5°C. After this take the plastic bag out and check regularly at room temperature to see if the seeds are germinating.
