The red tomato variety 'Ciliegia' is an old, Italian cherry tomato and famous for quite possibly being the sweetest and most aromatic cocktail tomato variety of all.

The name 'Ciliegia' simply translates from the Italian word for cherry. True to their name, the ripe tomatoes resemble cherries in their appearance, reaching a diameter of 1,5-2,5cm and a comparable dark red cherry colouring. Apparently this variety is originally from Sicily and due to its shorter to medium height, these tomatoes grow well in pots and on terraces.
