Siberian Kale 'Red Russian' (Brassica napus var. pabularia)

Sow from mid-May to July directly outdoors in the open land. Thin out after germination with a planting distance of 40 cm. Kale needs lot of nutrients, therefore the vegetable patch should be prepared with compost or composted manure some time before planting.
The Red Russian kale prefers sun to partial shade and moist, humus rich and calcareous soils. The variety 'Red Russian' is hardy and can be harvested from the first frosts until March.
