Crystal Lemon is a traditional yellow cucumber that was probably first marketed in the 1890s. The plants are robust and well suited for outdoor cultivation in Central Europe. Early on the numerous yellow-skinned fruit can be harvested. They are very
savory and are suitable for salads or pickling in vinegar. The taste is slightly sweeter than other varieties, free from bitter substances. The variety is also very easy to digest. Harvest the cucumbers before the peel becomes hard when they've reached approximately the size of lemons.

Although cucumbers can also be sown directly into the open field, indoor pre-culture is recommended. The seedlings are then hardened off and planted after the last frosts. Give the plants some protection and (optional) a climbing frame. Later, they can grow on a tendril or simply crawl on the ground. Plenty of water has a good effect on the fruit quality.
