Sowing & cultivation
Start to grow the pre-culture in pots in April. After reaching their frost resilience past the ‘Frost Saints’ period in May, the seedlings can be transplanted outdoors. Good care needs to be taken of the seedlings delicate roots when planted at a distance of 20-35cm from each other, in rows, which ought to be 140-210cm apart. The styrian oil pumpkin grows well on nutrient-rich, permeable soils and thrives in warm climate and when regularly watered well.
