Chamomile is one of the most important indigenous medicinal plants. The brights blue essential oil gained from the blossoms has a multitude of medicinal characteristics. Against gastrointestinal afflictions, skin inflammations, as a soothing
inhalation. Everyone surely remembers a vapour bath or chamomile tea against coughs and sneezes, conjunctivitides, or tummy troubles as a universal remedy in childhood. Chamomile is a true all-rounder.

Also for plants, it's a medicinal plant: From the antibacterial blossoms, a good seed dressing, which promotes germination and lowers the risk for pest infestation, can be prepared. What's lesser-known is that its blossoms can also show to advantage boiled as a spice for soups or raw in salads. Indeed, the whole plant is edible.

Annual herbaceous plant, very uncomplicated in care. Loves sunny locations and prefers rather moist, nutritious soils. Sowing: Preculture from March. Direct sowing outdoors from the end of May. Light germinator: Only scatter the seeds onto the substrate and press them on gently. Don't cover with soil.
