This is a very productive dandelion cultivar. The well-known blowball is not only fun for young and old, but also a very versatile plant. The flying dandelion seeds are beautiful to look at, the flowers can be used to boil syrup. Young leaves yield
a savory salad. Its roots can be roasted like coffee, or dug up in autumn and taken indoor where they can sprout once more. For this purpose, they are placed tightly together in a bucket with some moist soil and possibly covered with a lid. At 12 to 18 °C, you can be harvest wonderfully delicate bleached dandelion leaves, similar to chicory during the next few weeks.

The perennial dandelion is mainly known as a weed, and as such it is very undemanding in terms of its culture. The seeds are sown either March to May or in August directly outdoors. In order to harvest leaves as long as possible and keep them from getting bitter, the flowers should be broken off. In autumn, the roots can be dug up and used like chicory indoors.
