With its blue, violet, and white blossoms, Love-In-A-Mist is also a beautiful, annual cottage garden flower. It originates from the Mediterranean and was spread in the whole of Europe as a medicinal, spice, and decorative plant in the Middle Ages. A big advantage of its usage as a flower is that it's not interesting for snails.


The seeds have a very noble and intense flavour between black cumin and woodruff. They taste very well as a bread spice in cream cheese preparations. Ground, they unfold their woodruff taste in sweet dishes. However, they should be used modestly as they are poisonous in high dosage.

They are also preferably used in natural cosmetics.
