The beautifully blue-purple to pink and white blooming Sweet Pea shouldn't be missed in any near-natural cottage garden. Its blossoms exude a wonderful scent. The sweet pea is an annually growing pea that isn't edible. The pea pods the plant forms
after heyday aren't edible and only serve for the harvest of the seeds for the sowing in the following year. Each pod contains eight vetchlings.

The fragrant wild pea, instead, is perfectly suitable as a climbing pot plant for the greening of clear climbing supports like pergolas, fences, balconies, or simply free-standing rods. It can also climb up facades as far as it's not exposed to the full midday sun. However, there, it mostly hasn't enough space for its vigorous growth.

The blossoms of the wild pea from Italy exude a captivating scent. To a large part, they contain essential oils that are used in perfumery. The sweet pea is very well suitable as a cut flower, the regular removal of the blossoms (either cutting them off with the stalk while they bloom or breaking them off when they are withered) also extends heyday.
