The Tatarican Colewort is a wild kale variety that occurs from Southern Siberia up to the edge of the Austrian Alps. The young sprouts are eaten like the ones of the Sea Kale (Crambe Maritima). Crambe Tataria, however, is easier to grow and, apart
from the leaves, the roots can also be used. They grow as thick as an arm and are consumed like radish.

Very hardy perennial, tolerates different conditions. Germination can be slow so it is best to sow the seed in pots. It usually takes place in 3 - 5 weeks at 15°C. Prick out the seedlings into individual pots as soon as they are large enough to handle and plant out into their permanent positions.
