We now offer organically cultivated seeds for the 'Wild Tomato' also in organic quality from certified organic farming.

The Wild Tomato (Solanum Pimpinellifolium) probably is the most original form of the tomato which we can still get today and it grows excellently in our climes. It still grows as a wild-growing shrub in the North of South America today.
Its fruits are red and, with a diameter of 1.5cm, rather small but surprise with an excellent, intense mild and sweet taste and, therefore, are perfectly suitable for a snack garden.

The plant is very fertile and can produce up to 1000 fruits on good soil. All in all, the cultivation is similar to our tomato breedings but much less complicated as the wild tomato grows rather bushy and doesn't need much care or to be pinched out.
It isn't prone to blight and, therefore, doesn't need rain protection.

Attention: The wild tomato is very robust, grows fast, and has diligently sown itself in some gardens and strongly overgrown other plants. As a result, you should plan 2m² of space per plant.
