  • Sowing Period: Mid-January/ End of February indoors or 8-10 weeks before the last freezes
  • Ideal Germination Temperature: +25-28°C, a bright and warm location is absolutely essential
  • Germ Duration: Up to 2 weeks. After germination, place the plants at a cooler location at approx. 20°C again
  • Prick the plants 2-3 weeks after sowing when the first pair of leaves has fully developed. While doing this, the roots should be shortened to encourage their healthy growth.
  • Sowing from mid-May until the beginning of June after the last night frosts. Before, the plants should be hardened for several days. Don’t forget to water them.
  • Peppers need well-loosened, porous soils with a large amount of hummus. They dislike waterlogging but should never dry up completely.
  • Pepper plants love the warmth and prosper best in the greenhouse. That doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to let them grow outdoors. Nevertheless, choose the warmest and best-protected place in your garden to breed peppers or think of protection fleece if needed.
  • Peppers are heavy feeders. They need sufficiently good fertilizer and very much water indeed
