When protected with some branches, a winter fleece or cultivated in an unheated greenhouse, lamb's lettuce continuously provides a source of fresh greens, sometimes even enduring temperatures down to -15 °C. Best of all, this annual plant is extremely modest and hardly needs any plant care. We only advise you not to pick leaves in a frozen state, as they tend to wither and decrease in volume otherwise. Another interesting fact about lamb's lettuce is that is has only been cultivated for less than a century and was only known in its wild form before that time.
