Description

This selection contains of the seeds of five old tomato varieties.

Uniquely old heirloom tomato varieties often stand out for their diversity in particular in regards to flavour and optical appearance. In terms of colour, their range may extend from green to yellow, orange to reddish purple and sometimes even to dark brown. Also, a lot of the traditional varieties are known to be very robust.

We handpicked an assortment of various old heirloom tomatoes for you.
Each seed kit contains a minimum of 10 tomato seeds per variety

The following tomato seed varieties are included:
  • Tomato 'Rose de Berne'
The tomato variety 'Rose de Berne' is an old Swiss cultivar famous for its divine flavour. Typically these soft pink tomatoes reach different sizes, often varying between a salad-, and a beefsteak tomato, weighing approx. 100-300gr.
For us, this tomato variety is a 'best-ever' favourite
  • Tomato 'Green Zebra'
The tomato variety 'Green Zebra' is an absolute classic amongst the old heirloom tomato varieties. In the past, growing green tomato varieties was very popular as they had gained a reputation for their delicious fruity aromas and for being very robust.
  • Black tomato 'Black Russian'
This Russian black tomato variety is very aromatic and tangy.
  • 'Pineapple Tomato'
The 'Pineapple Tomato' variety originates from the United States and develops lovely orange tomatoes, which hardly have any seeds but may reach quite a large size. Therefore they are ideal for slicing and for sandwiches. They are wonderfully juicy and their sweet-fruity aroma is truly outstanding.
  • Tomato 'Yellow Ruffled'
The beefsteak tomato 'Yellow Ruffled' is a very old variety, possibly deriving from the 17th century. Its large, golden-yellow tomatoes are defined by their pronounced, ribbed appearance and being hollow inside, they are ideal for stuffing.
