Description

Tonda di chioggia is a surprisingly decorative type of striped or ringed beetroot which can be found in Italy, a red and white ringed root. Heirloom variety.

Growing instructions

These seeds benefit from pre-soaking in warm water overnight. In Europe the first outdoor sowings can be made in March. Direct sowing outdoors, 2-3 cm deep into the soil. Loves loose nutrient-rich soils. Late sowings can be made in late summer to provide fresh young roots in autumn.
