Description

The Borettana onion is a traditional Italian variety from Boretto, in the Emilia-Romagna region. The bulbs are flat and relatively small. They are eaten as an appetizer, especially pickled in balsamic vinegar. With their sweet, mild flavor they are
also wonderful for cooking.

Seed package content: 200 cipolla borettana onion seeds

Sowing & Growing
Sow from early March to mid-April. Row spacing 25 cm, sowing depth 2 cm. The onions are fully developed once the foliage turns brown and dries naturally, but they can also already be harvested earlier for fresh consumption. Onions like heavy, calcareous clay soil.
