Description

For some North American indigenous tribes, the tubers of the small camas were an important staple food. The plant grows wild on damp meadows and is very easy to cultivate. The pleasant tasting roots of quamash, also called wild hyacinth, are used
just like potatoes and can also be mixed with those other, more famous tubers. They taste best slowly fried at low temperatures or baked.
