Batavia lettuce
Short definition: Midway between a butterhead lettuce and a crisphead, with thicker, slightly curly leaves and a firmer structure.

Typical varieties: Rouge Grenobloise, Maravilla de Verano, Baquieu
Key features: More heat-tolerant than butterhead lettuce. Popular summer crop.
