‘Giants of Colmar’ is a late carrot variety suitable for storage. Very juicy, and producing magnificently large roots, it can keep really well for months at a time if stored in the right conditions. Generally it is not sown until May. This is a very old, heirloom carrot of the Colmar-Géante type, probably a selection from the Red Giant variety which has been on the market since 1900 at least. Storage carrots are slow-growing carrots, with a long ripening period – the time required from sowing to harvest is around 140 to 190 days. Daucus carota seeds.
