The Malagueta Pepper from Brazil is a close relative of the wild chili plants. The compact plants are only about 50 cm high and bear many red fruits. These will only grow 10-15 mm long and upright, as is common for Capsicum Frutescens varieties. The aroma is moderate but the pungency is remarkable - it sets in quick and lasts long.

Chili plants can be cultivated as annuals outdoors or as a perennial pot plant. We recommend hibernating the plants and cultivating them perennially as, especially in the second year, a plentiful harvest can be expected. Press the seeds into the seeding compost and keep them warm (approx. 24°C). Chili seeds need warmth for seeding – therefore, a heated plant propagator can be helpful. Grows well indoors. Loves sunny locations and nutritious soil.
