Description
Linaria maroccana is a colourful, annual flowering plant originating from Morocco, distinguished by its delicate, lipped flowers. This small plant brings its intricate beauty to gardens, wildflower meadows, and flower beds alike. It is especially popular due to its long blooming period and the variety of vibrant colours it offers, ranging from violet and pink to yellow. The plant reaches a height of approximately 20 to 50 cm and produces upright, slender stems with narrow, linear leaves. The flowers are arranged in dense spikes and resemble miniature snapdragons with their structure. Each individual flower has a delicate, spurred appendage, giving the plant an interesting texture. The colour palette is impressively diverse, creating striking splashes of colour in the garden.
The Annual Toadflax is ideal for borders, beds, and naturalistic gardens. It adds vibrant colour to rock gardens and looks especially beautiful when planted in groups. It also makes an attractive addition to colourful summer bouquets as a cut flower. With Linaria maroccana, you can bring a touch of Moroccan splendour into your own garden.

Sowing and care
Sowing Linaria maroccana is ideally done directly outdoors in spring. The seeds should only be lightly pressed into the soil, as they are light germinators and require brightness for germination. Germination usually occurs within 1 to 2 weeks, and just a few weeks after sowing, the plant begins to display its vibrant blooms. It looks especially beautiful when combined with other wildflowers or in naturalistic flower beds.
Care is straightforward: regular watering, particularly during dry periods, and occasional thinning of the plant are sufficient. Linaria maroccana often self-seeds, meaning it may reappear the following year, making it an ideal choice for natural, low-maintenance gardens.
