Description
Orange Scented Thyme (Thymus vulgaris ssp. fragrantissimus) exudes a wonderfully fruity and at the same time resin-like, warm citrus flavour. The fresh leaves are often used for the seasoning of poultry but suit the most diverse dishes, also desserts and sweet dishes.
Dried, the herb is still very aromatic and can be used well in the kitchen. In summer, the shrub blooms pink and white. It's well suitable for planting it into the stone garden.

Sowing and care
Orange scented thyme is a perennial, low half-shrub (20cm). Winter hardy. Likes lots of sun and meagre soils (on nutritious soils, the flavour is less distinct). These seeds germinate very well in pre-culture. Scatter the seeds thinly onto the substrate, press them onto it gently and keep them warm. Don't cover seeds with soil. Keep them moist until germination.
