Description

This French pumpkin variety has flat, plate-shaped, white fruits that can be used like zucchini. Harvested as a summer squash while young, Patisson Blanc pumpkins don't have to be peeled and have a very fine lemon taste.
If you let them mature longer, they are still edible but get hard skin and the pulp also becomes firm.

A fully ripened, white Patisson, therefore, is most often used as an ornamental pumpkin. Because of its characteristic colour and flat, wart-free surface, the variety 'Custard White' is also known as UFO pumpkin.

Sowing and care

Preculture in pots in April. Plant outdoors after a hardening phase after the Ice Saints in May. When bedding, handle the root bales with care. However, then, you can also sow the seeds directly outdoors. Planting distance approx. 60-80cm. Loves permeable, nutritious soil, warmth, and much water.
