Rare Seeds – unusual treasures hand-picked for your garden

From gardeners for gardeners: a seed kit that’s full of surprises

Nine unusual varieties including vegetables, herbs and flowers you definitely won’t find in any supermarket. Colourful, unusual and aromatic – hand-picked for anyone who loves something out of the ordinary. A wonderful gift for gardening enthusiasts and botanical adventurers.

The kit contains these varieties

A varied and colourful mix of vegetables, herbs and flowering plants:

• Wild tomato (Solanum pimpinellifolium) – original tomato variety, amazingly resilient, with many small, sweet, aromatic fruits
• Sunflower 'Autumn Beauty' (Helianthus annuus) – flowers in a variety of warm autumnal colours – a magnet for bees and a visual highlight
• Ethiopian eggplant (Solanum aethiopicum) – exotic ornamental and edible vegetable with visually striking ribbed red fruits
• Yellow carrot 'Jaune du Doubs' (Daucus carota subsp. sativus) – traditional golden-yellow carrot variety with a delicate, slightly sweet flavour
• Armenian cucumber (Cucumis melo var. flexuosus) – long-fruited speciality with a tender skin and mild flavour – botanically a melon, but used like a cucumber
• Round courgette 'Tondo di Nizza' (Cucurbita pepo) – round, early-ripening courgette with a tender skin – perfect for stuffing and gratins
• Lemon basil (Ocimum basilicum) – aromatic basil with a fresh citrus note – great for tea, salads and Asian cooking
• Sugarsnap pea 'Delikett' (Pisum sativum var. saccharatum) – super-tender sugarsnap pea with sweet, crispy pods you can snack on straight from the plant
• Radish 'Red Meat' (Raphanus sativus) – Asian variety with green-white skin and bright pink flesh – mildly spicy and visually striking
