how this thing with the plant seeds goes,
I'll show you how it works.
Just come with me into my charming witch patch
Our witch Magiga shows children how the sowing of plant seeds works and, at the same time, familiarizes them with the world of the vegetables by enchanting stories and some simple but impressive experiments.
The set consists of a lovingly designed box made out of cardboard with the following content:
- A child-oriented, colourfully illustrated sowing instruction, which is designed like a small book, with a story about the witch Magiga and her magic seeds.
-
6 seed sachets for the following plant varieties: Carrot, beetroot, potatoes, spring onions, daisies and parsley.
-
18 small, wooden insertion labels for labelling the sown seeds.
-
5 post cards and 1 sticker with the enchanting motives from the book
This seed gift set for children is a great present for children from 5 years old onwards. The older the child, the more autonomously it will be able to use the set. Children in primary school age surely still need a little bit of support from an adult.
The goal of the set is to experience the wonderful world of the plants using the example of some vegetable varieties. Beginning with the wonder of how a useful and, indeed, large plant grows from one seed grain only by caring for it a little bit up to the harvest and the further processing of the vegetable to a delicious, magical soup.
Some small experiments which can be carried out with the vegetables give additional insights into the powers of nature and are meant to stir up curiosity and the drive to research.
All plant varieties contained can, of course, be sown directly into the soil. However, it is also possible to grow them in higher pots on the balcony.
A very large specialty is the potato seeds as potatoes are mostly grown with seed potatoes. It isn't easy to receive seeds for potatoes at all. For the cultivation from seeds, patience is required, as you will only get small mini potatoes at the end of the first year of cultivation which will not lead to a great harvest until the next year.
Barely any child knows about such processes. Therefore, we think it's a very good idea to bring children closer to the large variety of those plants and to let them experience such wonders.
