Description
Congenial to the application, Cochlearia Officinalis is originally home on the salt marshes of the Atlantic coast on the Northern hemisphere and grows wildly in salty, moist locations. Basically, it doesn't make special demands regarding the soil and grows everywhere. The spoon-shaped leaves, which have a hot, cress-like taste and enrich every fresh salad, are harvested. Apart from the heyday in May and June, the harvest of the leaves is possible all around the year.
As a medicinal plant, scurvy grass is said to help with spring fever and fatigue after hard physical labour.
