Description
The leaves of stevia, a South American forest edge plant contain a natural sweetener. In processed form, it's enormously popular as an alternative to refined sugar today, especially because it's easily available in organic quality and relatively digestible.
The seasoning power of stevia, indeed, is impressive and the mild, very unobtrusive taste of its own suits all dishes - there's a reason why it's the traditional sweetener for mate.
