The exotic basil is not only well-suited for the typical Vietnamese noodle soup but also often unfolds its typical liquorice flavour with a touch of clove in East Asian meat dishes. The spicy, anise-scented leaves are mainly used fresh and match many Asian dishes. Thai Basil also wonderfully suits curries with coconut milk.

It's similar to wild basil in its usage as well as in taste and is an excellent tea herb.

Sow from mid-March indoors in pots, or in mid-May directly into the field. Basil needs light to germinate. Scatter seeds on the moist soil and press them into the ground only lightly.
Basil is very sensitive to frost and therefore only annual in temperate climate zones.
This variety reaches approx. 20-30cm in height.
Basil prefers humus-rich, loose, sandy and warm soil and sunny locations. It doesn't like windy locations
