Is this really the tomato variety Alexander von Humboldt brought back from America? We can’t be certain either way. But what is clear is that Wild Humboldt Tomato has a lot going for it. It’s extremely blight-resistant and ideally suited for growing outdoors. As a wild tomato it doesn’t need any rain protection and there’s no need to pinch out the side shoots. The fruits are pink in colour and significantly larger than many other wild tomato varieties. They taste aromatic and slightly raspberry-ish rather than sweet. They are also very resistant to splitting. Produces a multitude of delicious cherry-tomato-sized fruits for harvesting through into autumn.
