The pea variety 'Kelvedon Wonder' is one of the early maturing, high-yielding wrinkled pea varieties. With about 70 cm height, it remains rather low in stature, blooms beautifully white, and forms many grains per pod. Wrinkled peas contain less starch than other peas and are, therefore, sweet. The pods are harvested and cored while they are still green. The typically wrinkled seeds can either be cooked immediately or frozen at first and then processed later if necessary. Freshly, they can't be stored very long.
