Seeds for traditional medicinal herbs
We offer seeds of medicinal plants – plants that have been closely associated with human health since ancient times. These include plants that were traditionally grown in convent and monastery gardens and used in tinctures and salves – but also health-promoting plants from all over the world.

Medicinal plants and herbs that provide active ingredients for natural remedies, or that make good tea herbs, can also be found here. In Central Europe most people are familiar with everyday remedies such as fennel tea for gastrointestinal problems or thyme tea for coughs – many of the herbs we now commonly use in cooking were once known only as medicinal plants. It’s very useful to have a few of these tried and trusted plants growing in your garden so you can harvest them and have them to hand whenever you need them. Nonetheless we advise you to use and handle medicinal herbs very carefully and cautiously. Many medicinal plants are poisonous and should only be used by those with specialist expertise.
Different cultures, and countries, even different regions, have their own special medicinal plants and associated traditions. Plants from other climate zones are sometimes almost unknown in Europe and only available as processed medications. This can bring ecological issues into play – many pharmacologically useful plants are over-harvested in their countries of origin and threatened with extinction as a result.
