Garden of the Future: What Will Our Gardens Look Like in 30 Years?
Gardens of the future
Everyone who gardens automatically develops a sixth sense for the climate and the gradual changes in nature. With extreme weather phenomena occurring differently every year, such as prolonged heat with drought or sudden periods of heavy rain, we also have to think about what these climate changes mean for our gardens.
As seed merchants and passionate gardeners, we began a few years ago to find out, through field research and experiments of our own, which plant species might be able to cope with such climatic challenges, and how it might be possible to get through the year as a self-sufficient grower even during prolonged drought.

We would like to share these collected experiences with you under #GartenDerZukunft.
Of course, we would also love to hear your ideas and experiences on this topic and get into lively conversation with you.
What will your garden look like in 30 years?
We hope that we will continue to succeed in preserving a great diversity of plants and the animals that live in them. A buzzing garden full of birds, insects and amphibians, living in a natural balance.
We hope that our garden will stay fruitful and lush without becoming unaffordable and turning into a luxury good. For example, we must be able to manage without artificial irrigation.
We dream of creating a gentle transition with plant species that can cope with future climatic conditions. Sadly, some of our favourites will leave us, but surely new ones will arrive.
