'Royal Burgundy' is a beautiful and highly productive bush bean. The purple pods are easily visible, making harvesting a bit easier. When cooked, the pods turn green again. They grow to about 15 cm long, are stringless, tender, and very tasty. In the garden, this variety is very robust and also copes well with cooler weather. It grows well even in pots and, of course, in raised beds. What impresses us most is that purple varieties are actually less popular with slugs than the green-podded ones. Bush beans are generally a favourite food of slugs, but this variety is significantly less eaten.
